The open world runs on a continuous day-night cycle.
The sun rises, arcs overhead and sets while the sky, shadows and ambient light shift with it — from a golden dawn, to bright midday, to an orange dusk, to a moonlit night.
Clouds drift across the sky and are lit by the time of day — white at noon, gold at dusk, dim blue at night.
Night is dimmer and bluer but never pitch black, so you can keep hunting around the clock.
The village street lamps glow warm at dusk and switch off again at dawn.
One full day-night cycle takes about 30 real minutes (roughly 7-8 minutes per phase: Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night).
The time of day is driven by server time, so every player in the world sees the same sky at the same moment — and it can't be skipped by changing your device clock.
The cycle covers the open-world zones (Eloria Village and the overworld hunting zones).
Dark Woods stays gloomy and foggy at every hour by design — fireflies drift among the trees, you carry a soft warm light, and the lurking creatures give off a faint glow, so the gloom stays atmospheric but navigable.
Indoor and instanced areas — Cursed Caverns, Ancient Ruins interiors, Battle Dungeon and the Apex Arena — keep their own fixed lighting and are unaffected.
Settings > Graphics has a 'Day-Night Cycle' toggle.
Turn it off to lock the open world to bright midday — the moving sun, drifting clouds, sky color changes and night street lamps all stop, which removes their cost on low-end GPUs.
It's independent of the quality preset, so switching it off won't change your other graphics settings.
