An Echoes of Creation guide

Class Change

When you reach Level 10, you are congratulated and offered the class choice on the spot — pick a class right away or choose Later. If you wait, the offer repeats on your next level-up, and you can always visit Master Aldric in the village instead.

All stat points are refunded so you can reallocate for your new class.

After you choose, Sage Elwin's skill shop opens so you can buy your first class skill. You can visit him in the village anytime for more skill books, and Gareth the Blacksmith for gear crafting and upgrades.

Adventurer

The starting class. Scales with whatever weapon type you equip. Can use any weapon but has no specialization bonuses.

As an Adventurer you can already open the Talent Tree (T) to preview every class's talents — see Talent Tree Preview.

Talent Tree Preview

Before you pick a class, the Talent Tree (T, or the Talents HUD button) opens in preview mode. Use the tabs at the top to browse the full talent tree of each class — Swordsman, Assassin, Ranger, Cleric, Warrior and Mage — and hover any node to read what it does.

The preview is read-only: talent points are earned (1 per level) and spent only after your class choice at Level 10, and only in your own class's tree.

Swordsman

Melee specialist scaling with STR.

Uses: Swords

Starter weapon: Wooden Sword

Best for: high damage, frontline fighting.

Assassin

Fast melee scaling with DEX.

Uses: Knives, Daggers

Starter weapon: Rusty Knife

Best for: quick attacks, high dodge, party offense.

Key skills: Phantom Strike, Venom Edge, Death's Embrace, Killing Intent (party +Attack Speed & +Damage).

Ranger

Ranged attacker scaling with DEX.

Uses: Bows

Starter weapon: Short Bow

Best for: safe damage from a distance.

Hunter's perks: Rangers carry 20% more weight (Pack Mule) and find gem shards 20% more often (Shard Hunter) - full gems stay as rare as everyone else's.

Cleric

Magic user scaling with INT.

Uses: Staves

Starter weapon: Apprentice Staff

Best for: ranged burst, AoE channels, party support, self-sustain.

Key skills: Holy Light (450%), Divine Judgment (700% AoE channel), Sacred Nova (party heal + AoE damage), Heal, Angel's Blessing.

Meditation passive: +20% MP regen, +10% max MP, +10% skill damage.

Blessed vitality: Clerics have +10% max HP and a 25% chance to resist an incoming critical hit (it lands as a normal hit instead).

Warrior

Berserker melee scaling with STR.

Uses: Greatswords (two-handed — Warriors can never equip an off-hand; their weapons hit harder to make up for it).

Starter weapon: Worn Greatsword

Best for: the heaviest single hits in the game, AoE slams, party offense.

Key skills: Brutal Swing, Skullbreaker (stun), Maelstrom of Iron (AoE), Ragebreaker, Berserker's Warcry (party +Damage).

Blood Frenzy passive: +10% skill damage, +5% max HP.

Mage

Glass-cannon caster scaling with INT.

Uses: Greatstaves (two-handed — Mages can never equip an off-hand; their staves hit harder to make up for it).

Starter weapon: Worn Greatstaff

Best for: the highest damage ceiling in the game, wide AoE, a party damage shout.

Key skills: Arcane Bolt, Frost Lance (slow), Flame Nova (AoE), Meteor Fall, Chronoshift (party +Magic Damage).

Arcane Attunement passive: +10% skill damage, +5% max MP.

No heals. Where the Cleric trades damage for sustain, the Mage has none at all — the thinnest survivability of any class.
